Terms of Use
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Seedcraft Ventures Ltd (“we”, “us”) for using Herald. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. We've kept them plain.
What Herald is
Herald reads your message notifications aloud, lets you answer by voice, and can hold messages from the apps you choose for a later roundup. It's free, and it works on your phone without an account.
Who can use Herald
You need to be at least 13, or the minimum age for using apps without parental consent where you live, if that's higher.
Your messages and other apps
- Herald works with notifications from other apps (like Gmail or WhatsApp). Those apps are run by other companies under their own terms, and they can change how their notifications work at any time, which may affect what Herald can read or do.
- Herald reads what an app puts in its notification. That's sometimes only a preview, so what you hear may not be the whole message.
- When you reply through Herald, the message is sent by that app. You're responsible for what you send, so listen to the read-back before you confirm.
- Speech recognition isn't perfect. Herald always reads your reply back before sending, but please check anything important.
Use it safely
Herald is designed to keep your eyes off your phone. In the car, use it hands-free only, keep your attention on the road, and follow the law where you are. Don't rely on Herald for urgent or emergency messages: notifications can be delayed, silenced by your phone, or missed.
Fair use
Please don't use Herald to break the law, to read messages from devices or accounts that aren't yours without permission, or to reverse engineer, resell or misuse the app.
Our content and brand
The app, its design, the Herald name and the mark belong to us. You're welcome to talk about Herald and share screenshots.
Early release
Herald is new and still improving. Features may change, appear or be removed, and there may be bugs. We'd love to hear about them at admin@seedcraft.co.
Liability
Herald is provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always work or suit your needs. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for missed, delayed or misread messages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending
You can stop using Herald at any time by uninstalling it, which also deletes everything it stored. We may stop offering Herald, with notice where we reasonably can.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes go to the Scottish courts. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections of the place you live.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the date above, and let you know in the app where we reasonably can.
